Father Lino Gonsalves served as administrator of St. Joseph and St. James, Manhattan, from 2011 through July of 2015, when he then was on sabbatical in Peru for Spanish language study. He served as parochial vicar of Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine at St. Bernard’s, Manhattan, 2004-2011; Our Lady Help of Christians, Staten Island, 2004; and St. John the Baptist, Yonkers, 2001-2004. Ordained in his native India in 1986, he was incardinated in 2009. Welcome to Immaculate Conception and Assumption of Our Lady!
The first weekly drawing of the Bonanza Lottery 2016 will be on Monday, February 15. The last weekly drawing will be on Monday, November 28. During that time period, two tickets will be drawn each week for $200 prizes. In addition to the weekly drawings, there will be three drawings for $2,000 prizes. Winning tickets will be re-entered for subsequent drawings - so it is possible to win multiple prizes. Feel free to sell tickets; partner with family and friends. Extra tickets will be available at the rectory and in the school offices.
The Assumption Altar Rosary Society is holding its annual Mardi Gras Celebration on Saturday, February 6, from 6 PM to 10 PM in Fr. Fata Hall. This popular event includes musical entertainment, raffle prizes, and a 50/50 raffle. Dinner includes antipasto, pasta, meat and vegetarian entrees, salad, desserts and beverages (wine, soda, coffee and tea). The cost for the evening is $35 for adults, $12 for children (ages 10-17), and free for children under 10 when accompanied by an adult.
