On behalf of the rector, Monsignor Peter Vaccari, and the faculty of Saint Joseph’s Seminary, we have asked to accept Deacon Luis Silva to serve at our Parish on weekends beginning on Saturday, November 16 and concluding on Sunday, April 26.
Deacon Luis was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and has prepared for the priesthood for eight years here in the Archdiocese of New York. He will be ordained a Deacon on Saturday, November 9 so please keep him in your prayers.
In his weekend assignment, the transitional Deacon may take part in the parish in the following ways:
Serving as Deacon and preaching for at least one Mass.
Be available to help with communion and to greet parishioners at other Masses.
During his assignment, the deacon will preside at baptisms and Benediction.
He will occasionally offer Adult Education opportunities in English and Spanish.
We are excited and honored to be part of Deacon Silva’s formation toward the day he is ordained a priest. Let us give him a warm welcome.
