The most precious gift that Jesus left to His Church is his Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament. Hidden under the appearance of Bread and Wine Jesus Himself is present in the Eucharist. The Host is the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ. We participate in the Liturgy and when we hear the words, “This is My Body” and “This is My Blood” —we know that Jesus, our Lord is present. We receive Him in Communion and God is with us.
Why do we reserve the Eucharist in the Tabernacle? Why do we collect the hosts that are left over after the distribution of Communion and place them in a special place signified by an ever-burning red candle? For two reasons: to bring Communion to the sick and those near death and FOR ADORATION AND PRAYER.
Has it been a long time since you have just come to Church and sat in silence, with the bible or a spiritual book spending time with our Lord?
Many people stay after Mass or come earlier to just sit and pray with their Lord. Others drop by during the day to pray the rosary or sit with their list of love ones and prayer requests and present them to the Lord.
ARE YOU THERE? DO YOU STOP BY TO MAKE A VISIT? One of the ways of praying before the Blessed Sacrament is when we have Exposition and Benediction. Pray the Miraculous Medal Novena every Monday at 12:30 PM or at 7:00 PM. Every First Friday of the Month, the Blessed Sacrament is exposed for adoration from 12:30 pm until 7:00 pm. Come and make a Holy Hour with our Lord. Be there for Benediction at 7:00 pm. He is waiting for you – come and pray and adore Him.
