Eastchester Town Hall
After 22 years of waiting for the right moment, this is that moment. You are invited to attend the Public Planning Board Meeting on May 23 as the members vote on our proposal to restore and bring back opportunities to Holy Mount Cemetery. Established in 1882, Holy Mount Cemetery now contains over 5,500 graves and two Mausoleums on 4.5 acres of land off California Road. Many parishioners are aware that we have been blessed with approval from the Town of Eastchester Zoning Board and received the unanimous approval from the Town Architectural Review Board. Please show your support by attending this meeting.
We hope to build the promised Terrace Gardens and Columbarium on the grounds of the Cemetery, as proposed by our parish, the Archdiocese and many other members of the Parish Design team. The proposal for building or expanding Holy Mount was conceived in 1997 to make available burial places for loved ones and citizens at the Cemetery, which had sold all of its graves by 1982.
This notice is to inform and invite you to the meeting listed above where a vote may take place on our approval. A show of positive community support would be welcome on our behalf; earlier in the process we did submit over 800 signatures of supporters. God bless you all.
