Parish Lenten Mission
FROM MERCY TO MISSION
The Synod on the Family convened by Pope Francis reminded us that "The New Evangelization is synonymous with mission, requiring the capacity to set out anew, go beyond boundaries and broaden horizons."
Especially in the light of the sexual abuse scandal that has humbled our church, we will employ prayer, reflection, ritual, and preaching to explore how best we can be both signs of mercy and Good News as well as disciples of the New Evangelization in the 21st century.
To do this, we will ask three questions:
- Have you ever thought of yourself or your parish as a community of missionaries?
- Are you prepared, personally and communally, to start out anew in the service of God's Mercy?
- What might it mean for you and your parish to go beyond boundaries and broaden your horizons as disciples of Jesus?
Join us at 7 PM for prayer before Fr. Jack begins his presentations. Fr. Jack is a traveling preacher and teacher as well as the former Provincial of the Capuchins. He has spoken in more than 70 dioceses worldwide.
