St. Padre Pio’s Feast Day is Monday, Sept. 23;
Veneration of his Relics on Nov. 23
Within a month of Padre Pio’s ordination (Sept. 7, 1910), as he was praying, Jesus and Mary appeared to him and gave him the wounds of Christ, the Stigmata. He asked Jesus to take away "the annoyance," adding, " I do want to suffer, even to die of suffering, but all in secret.” While that didn’t happen, Padre Pio bore the wounds of our Lord until the miraculously disappeared at the moment of death.
We will be celebrating his life and faith on two upcoming occasions:
Mass for the Feast of St. Padre Pio, Monday, Sept. 23
7:30 AM at Assumption Church
8:30 AM and Noon at Immaculate Conception Church
Venerating the Relics of Saint Pio, Saturday, Nov. 23
11 AM - 4:30 PM at Immaculate Conception
Mass celebrated at 5 PM
with Archbishop Bernardito C. Auza, Apostolic Nuncio to the United Nations
