We have enjoyed journeying with our fellow parishioners throughout Europe. Now, let’s explore the incredible shrines we have here on the East Coast. We can easily overlook the blessings we have in our own backyard and so we have scheduled these few days to experience the awe and graces God has bestowed on us in the United States.
There are many historic landmarks and institutions important to our Catholic faith all down the East Coast. We’ll travel to Washington, D.C., on this trip and visit the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, the foremost Marian Shrine in this country and our own patronal church. We’ll entrust the days we spend together to the Mother of God, our model for the pilgrimage of our lives.
Here is our itinerary:
DAY 1: Early morning departure from Immaculate Conception Church parking lot; visit to the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America; celebrate Mass at the monastery; hotel check-in; independent dinner; 8-10 PM- Panoramic tour of our nation’s capital.
DAY 2: Visit and tour the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, celebrate Mass, and eat lunch there; Visit the St. John Paul II National Shrine and special exhibit; afterward, return home.
